Last year I bought some Nature’s Path gluten free cereal to make some cornflake style cakes for my coeliac friend, and I was so impressed that I contacted the company to tell them how much I loved their cereal. As they were just launching in the UK they sent me some cereals to try and review.

The cereals all had lovely (cutesy) sounding names, and the first to catch my eye was Ginger and Cashew Commotion.

“Crunchy wheat flax flakes with chunky cashews, crispy oat clusters and a gentle pinch of ginger”.
This cereal is amazing! It actually does have massive cashew nuts in it, and the ginger is strong, but not overpowering. I love the fact that is has some flax in it (anything to help with the omega 3 levels) and the only sweeteners are pretty natural (evaporated cane juice, oat syrup solids, molasses. It has mixed grain flakes including brown rice flour, quinoa, spelt and millet. Per 100g is 440cal, 10.9g protein (not bad for a cereal), 72.7g carbs, 11.8g fat and 8.3g fibre. But mostly it tastes totally amazing.

I enjoyed it on it’s own with cold milk, and had fun counting the massive cashews.

I also love having it with chocolate alpro (ginger and chocolate are such a good combo). Delicious. 10/10 cherries from me.
Next on the menu was the Maple Syrup and Hazelnut Harmony.

This has similar but slightly longer list of ingredients to the other cereal (whole wheat meal, rolled oats, wheat bran, brown rice flour, oat bran, quinoa flour, spelt flour, millet flour, evaporated cane juice, roasted hazelnuts, flax seeds, soy oil, barley malt extract, sea salt, maple syrup, coconut, natural maple flavour, oat syrup solids, natural vitamin E, molasses, cinnamon). 100g gives you 425 cals, 10.2g protein, 76g carbs, 8.9g fat, 11.7g fibre.

I found it very sweet tasting, and as I had it with milk it turned the milk into maple flavoured milk! I am not a fan of sweet cereals – I like fairly plain oats and things like that. It had a storng maple syrup flavour, and if you love maple syrup and like sweet cereals then this is the one for you. I think it would be amazing with some vanilla ice cream for dessert! I would give it 7/10 cherries. I did quite like it, but would probably not have it for breakfast.
Then I tried the Cherry and Coconut Harvest
Crunchy wheat flax flakes with tangy red cherries, crispy oat clusters and a light smattering of shredded coconut.

This had a lovely strong coconut flavour. It did have a few totally enormous cherries, but I would have loved even more
I had it with vanilla and also chocolate soya yoghurt, and loved it.

The ingredients are similar to the other ones-Wholegrain cereals (including wheat, oats, rice, quinoa, spelt, millet), cane juice, cherries, flax seeds, coconut chips, soy oil, barley malt, oat syrup solids, coconut and cherry flavour and molasses. 100g gives you 429 cals, 8.8g protein, 75.1g carbs, 22.4gsugars, 10.5g fat, 3.3g saturates, 8.5g fibre.
I found it very tasty (but more coconutty than cherry flavour), filling, crunchy, but I would have loved more dried cherries. 9/10 cherries
Pumpkin and Raisin Huddle
Crunchy wheat flax flakes with heavenly pumpkin seeds, crispy oat clusters and a playful scattering of raisins.
I loved the addition of the pumpkin seeds- they add a lovely crunch. The flakes are pretty sweet, and go perfectly with milk or adding a crunch to yoghurt. I still enjoyed this, but I suppose adding raisins and pumpkin seeds are more “normal” than the ginger or cherry flavours, so 8/10 cherries.
I will be on the look out for more Nature’s Path cereal in the future
