Rice Dream

I loved the flavour of chocolate rice dream- so delicious.

I contacted the people to tell them, and mentioned my blog, and they agreed to send me some of their other products to sample. :)

Some Original Organic Rice milk, and some Original + Calcium.

I used the Original in baking;

in porridge;

and in tea;

and it worked perfectly in all of them. The porridge looked a little thinner than when made with normal milk, but I don’t think the flavour was much different (I cover it in cinnamon anyway). In the baking and in the tea it was again fine- did not split or curdle or anything like that. I think it makes a good replacement for milk, and if you were avoiding soya then it would be a good alternative.

I liked the Original + Calcium, as I think if you were to cut out dairy you do need to think about where to get calcium from.

This was amazing by the way- small frozen banana, 1/2 bag spinach, some frozen cherries, some rice dream, 2tsp cocoa powder, xanthan gum = heaven! It was meant to be a smoothie but it was more like melty ice cream so I ate it from a bowl! Anyway, the rice dream was lovely in this and I was happy to know I was still getting some calcium too.

I would choose the one with added calcium over the original one, just to help with my calcium intake, but to me they both tasted the same- light and fresh, and I was impressed by how well they went in tea, baking, porridge etc.

Their website has a load of recipes on there which look amazing, as well as a list of their other products (I will be on the lookout for the hazelnut and almond one which sounds amazing). They also asked that I put a link to their facebook page, so click here to go to that and “like” it.

So thanks Rice Dream- I enjoyed trying those products and will be on the lookout for other ones.
