Rachel’s Organic

So the lovely lovely people at Rachel’s Organic sent me a lovely box full of goodies to review! I was really excited, as I now try to only have organic dairy, and this time of year I love some yoghurt with muesli for breakfast!

They sent me some lovely unusual flavours, so first up I tried the organic low fat apple and elderflower yoghurt.

I had this with apple and muesli, and also by itself, and it was delicious. It has simple ingredients- yoghurt, sugar, apple, elderflower cordial and natural flavouring. I would much prefer some sugar than some aspartame or other sweetener in my food. Per 100g is 95 cals, 4g protein, 16g carbs and 1.6g fat.

The taste of this was delicious- rich and creamy, with little pieces of apples. I did wonder what the elderflower taste would be (sometimes it can add a very sweet taste) but it was lovely- it made is very refreshing. 10/10 cherries

The Divine Toffee Rice was indeed divine!

I had it cold, but you can heat them up. It was delicious- so creamy and the toffee sauce was so sweet and scrummy. It is made from all organic ingredients- milk, rice, sugar, toffee sauce (sugar, cream, butter, rice starch, lemon juice, molasses, sugar syrup, flavouring), cream, egg and salt. Per 100g it is pretty high in calories and fat (137 cals, 5.3g fat, 2.8g protein, 19.4g carbs) but I think it is such a lovely treat. I think I prefer the plain one, as I like to add different things to it (dried figs or pb or chocolate chips) but this was still delicious. 9/10 cherries

The Greek Style Coconut yoghurt was totally amazing!

It contains real pieces of coconut (the only ingredients are yoghurt, cream, sugar, coconut) and it was so thick and delicious. At 148cal per 100g it is higher in calories than most yoghurts, but it was just amazing! 10/10 cherries

The Low Fat Rhubarb was tasty too;

It made the perfect breakfast with apple and muesli. As it is low fat it is runnier than the thick greek style ones, but really tasty still.

I also used it in some muffins;

It worked perfectly to keep the muffins moist (and much lower in fat too) and they were a hit at work. Although I preferred the thicker yoghurts, this was delicious and light for breakfast (only 86cal per 100g and more protein with 4.1g), so 9/10 cherries.

The Tropical Fruits 4 pack has also been good.

I had a couple just as mid-morning snacks, and a couple for breakfast with fruit/ apple and muesli. All the flavours were lovely, but I think my favourite has to be the pineapple and papaya- I just love those summery flavours. The good thing about the 4 packs is that you can spread them out over more days, whereas the big pots have to be eaten within a few days of opening. 9/10 cherries

The Greek Style with Ginger was also amazing

I had it with some strawberries, and it was amazing. Again, such simple ingredients (yoghurt, cream, sugar, ginger) and there are little pieces of ginger throughout. I have seen somewhere I am sure a recipe for a ginger pumpkin pudding (where you would mix the yoghurt with pumpkin puree) so I will try that next. This is just as amazing as the coconut yoghurt, although I probably would not have it for breakfast (I am not keen on strong flavours early on). It is so tasty, so thick, so creamy. Just delicious. 10/10 cherries

I really enjoyed reviewing these products. I now try to only have organic dairy products, and I was missing the Fage greek yoghurt. But these ones (although higher in calories and fat than Fage) are so tasty and I am so glad I have discovered them! I also love the range of more unusual flavours- the apple and elderflower was so refreshing and both the coconut and ginger ones were just amazing, and not flavours I have seen in other ranges. So thanks Rachel’. s :)
