I have been a fan of Meridian since I first branched out from regular peanut butter. I love their massive tubs (from Holland and Barrett), and I love the range of other nut butters that they do. I have also loved their pesto (the first vegetarian pesto I have found- with cashew nuts instead of cheese) for years.
Imagine my excitement when they agreed to send me some products to try!
I received a box full of smooth peanut butter, Dark tahini, Almond butter, Raspberry spread, Morello Cherry spread, Tomato and Chilli pasta sauce, and some Peanut Butter and Oat bars. (They also sent some Molasses, which had smashed in transit!).
I have been loving the Smooth Peanut Butter in everything!
It is lovely in porridge as it melts in so well. It is made from 100% peanuts, which I think is fantastic. I am not a fan of salted ones usually, and always prefer ones with no sugar or oil or anything like that. I have used this in baking, and spread it on toast, and it is just amazing. 10/10 cherries

The Tomato and Chilli pasta sauce was lovely. I did not take a picture as we had it while we were away, but it was really tasty. We had it with pasta and added veggies. I was impressed as it had a simple list of ingredients, and used agave nectar instead of sugar. It did have a hint of chilli- it tasted warming, but it was not too spicy (I do not like spicy food really, I like a teeny bit of heat and that is all)- made my lips warm but that was all! I normally make pasta sauce, but it was a lovely change to have a really fresh tasting sauce. 10/10 cherries
The Morello Cherry Spread has also been going on everything!
It goes well in porridge (either on it’s own or with some pb), and I also love it in a pitta bread. I love that fact that it is sweetened with juice and has no sugar in there at all. The cherry flavour really comes through. Yum. 10/10 cherries
The Almond butter is a lovely change from pb.
I had it in a pitta with some of the cherry spread for a bakewell style pitta! This has added salt (only 0.5%) and I think this is why it has a more savoury flavour. But it still goes really well with sweet things like the cherry spread. For some reason though I do not think it tastes much like raw almonds, so I suppose their flavour must really change from being roasted. But it is lovely and a nice change. 9/10 cherries
The Dark Tahini is lovely.
I used one of the meridian recipes (here) for white bean hummus, and this was lovely.
I added a roasted red pepper, which made it even more tasty.
I have also had it drizzled over warm carrot pancakes.
I love the way it goes all melty on warm foods, and adds that perfect sesame flavour (it is 100% sesame seeds). I also used it in a recipe for tahini lime cookies !
So good! They also have an amazing looking recipe for tahini fruit slices here which I am looking forward to trying.

The Oat and Peanut butter bars are so good too. I love the fact they have such a simple ingredient list (oats, peanut butter, honey, molasses), and they taste delicious. Like a flapjack, but less oily. 10/10 cherries
The Raspberry spread is also delicious. It uses grape juice instead of sugar to sweeten, but is just like any other jam. I have had it in porridge (yum) and am saving the rest to make some kind of oat jam bar slices.
I think that Meridian make the best nut butters- I love the fact that they are 100% nuts with no added oil, sugar or anything. Totally natural. The fruit spreads are brilliant too- who needs sugar when fruit is sweet already? I never normally buy ready made pasta sauce, mainly because of the long list of ingredients and additives, but this pasta sauce was natural and also tasty. Thanks Meridian for letting me try these products!
